Looks a cracking motor for that money mate, id be well happy at under 4k

As for the Aircon
Take it to a proper aircon specialist to sort it for you in my oppinion, im lucky as good friends with a mobile aircon specialist and knows his way around our systems like back of his hand
Mine stopped working last month and took it to vag place to diagnose via vcds and he was useless
Next day got my specialist friend out and it was diagnosed as pressure switch and fixed within 15 mins along with a service and re-gas £70  :congrats:

He says half his jobs are fixing fook ups that back street have a go garages have messed up because they dont know what they doing!

He also supplies and fits new or recon compressors for around £250 which is silly cheap compared to other prices ive heard of etc

Nice work on the new motor!  :happy2:
Looks like a good find - fingers crossed the climate is a quick fix!
I would take it for a regas first to see if the system is holding pressure - if they cant fill it there is no charge in places like Formula 1 Autocentre
Atleast you will know there if it is leaking!

130 odd thousand miles - pah, its just been run in!

Get some more pics on!  :drinking:

Where Napoleons armies marched with horse and musket and Hitlers Reich crumbled in blood and rubble, the warriors of Armageddon do battle against the landscape of hell now indeed thrive the ARMOURERS

Agree with this.

Kwik Fit have been good for me here. If it doesn't work, no fee. If it works but needs doing within 12 months, refund.

Also usually got an offer on if you search online.

Cool, thanks for the tips chaps.
I have a Kwik Fit just round the corner from me, so I'll ask them to try and recharge the a/c

I did have a quick look and doesn't seem to be any right now, but store prices often differ, so may be worth popping in.

I take your point...but I do think (like with halfords for bikes) there is a massive variance. My local one has been good for me, but the one a couple of miles away is awful. This said, I've spent quite a while in cars I wasn't too bothered about, until I managed to get back into a dub.

Just had my A/C done at Kwikfit, long story short, I had a 20% voucher in the summer so I left it up until now, I emailed customer service and I got it done for £35... very friendly staff, into their VDubs too so 45 mins seemed like 5 - like Dave said, take it as you find it, I've had A LOT worse service at VW, but I'm sure not all are the same.
