Favourite leather cleaner and protection?
« on: November 05, 2014, 12:00:03 pm »
Running out of my zaino z9 z10 works really well. I like how it cleans and protects and is still matt. Only thing i find is I need to do it every fortnightly at least.

I have white leather plus I'm a bit if a clean freak with my car.

Just wondering what everyone else uses happy with the zaino stuff just want to know if any one thinks there's something better.

I find the magic eraser works well but is Abit abrasive and can't imagine it's great for the leather.

I use race glase leather balm. It keeps the matt finish, smells nice and is easy to apply, lasts about 6-8 weeks
The only other stuff I've used is autoglyn leather balm, which dried all powdery white, and so I bought the above which iam happy with.

Dr leather do some maintenaince wipes
if you have kept on top of your leather since using it then you can use a Zymol spray which you can get from halfords.

Cheers for the replys! This Dr leather stuff looks quite good and I want a sealant type thing as my trousers die transfers and i also find the wheel gets shiny pretty easy so that die block sounds good.

Quite dear though if I works haven't got a issue with spending that.

I saw the zymol stuff in Halfords the other day is the Dr leather alot better than  zymol?

Much of a muchness really.
Dr leather wipes are more of a quick wipe along with your perhaps weekly clean
The zymol spray is a little more. We also use a lot of gliptone leather stuff which is good, there's a cleaner and a conditioner and that helps a lot.
If you want to seal your leather Cquartz offer a leather sealant now.

This would be a more permanent (6 months) of protection

avoid magic sponges and what not unless absolutely necessary as they are quite aggressive and like paintwork, leather has a protective coating which if you go through then the colour can fade out / can stain clothes / peel.

Just used the Zymol cleaner and conditioner on old seats and they came up really well. It's all natural without scents in etc it so it's not harmful to the leather.
