Hi all I need to top up my engine oil but I'm not sure what grade VW use, does anyone have any idea.
Also I've got a litre of 0-30w would this be ok to top up or is the grade to low.

Oh right I thought they would have used a higher grade.
As per the original post, if I topped up with 0-30w would that be a problem?

Yeh best off getting some 5w-30, if you can find out what's currently in there (from a receipt or something) and get some more of that in there that would be best

Cheers mate it has been serviced by vw throughout so would assume it's the 5-30 as suggested, I'll call the dealer tomorrow

The diesel GT also uses 5w30 oil. With DPF only 5w30, without DPF can use 5w40 too.
