Bit of an update - finally got the bits and bobs painted!

Replica Edition 30 front splitter - fits okay around the front - doesn't really fit underneath and is held in by cable ties and newly drilled holes. Colour match is close enough for me.

Side skirts smoothed and painted.

Genuine Edition 30 rear lower valance and painted.

Genuine Edition 30 rear lights.

Mk6 parking sensors fitted (but not yet wired up - hopefully in the next week).

2 new Pilot Sport 3 tyres on the front and aligned as when it was on the ramp I noticed a bit of balding on the inner front right.

Cambelt, water pump and tensioners done as well.

It's been an expensive month  :ashamed:

I think that's me pretty much done with mods to the car's exterior/interior - maybe get a couple of small things, but nothing big. Next year I plan on getting it remapped when my insurance renews in June (and also go with an insurer who supports engine mods).

Mooooree powerrrrrr  :driver:

So just in time for my bi-annual update, got @willni to give the GTI a detail:

Great job and very pleased with it!

Not much happening to the car outside of general maintenance (damn you CV joints!) and regular servicing.

Hopefully getting the wheels left to a refurb company tonight but not sure of the colour to go for with the Steel Grey. I know that they won't near the original colour of the Pescaras but we'll see!

Definitely looks better than the pictures from my phone lol

And incase anyone's wondering it was a;

Two-stage polish, followed by a coat of pure polish and 2 coats of si02 (ceramic technology) wax.

well, apparently it's lighter in person, so hopefully not too dark when against the grey!

The GTI is looking extremely fresh Ross, good job on the detail...
Small update but something I've been looking forward to since I first got the car - Pescaras.

Guy from a local car forum here in Northern Ireland was buying an Ed30 from England and brought the car back only to instantly upgrade to a set of 19"s. As I had been chatting to him he offered me the Pescaras, which I instantly said yes to!

Picked these up with tyres (albeit rather budget tyres, but no biggy) for a very reasonable price. They've recently had a full refurbishment before he bought the car and the finish is perfect. They're now silver after the refurbish but I'm hoping they'll go well with the steel grey of the GTI. The center caps will be replaced tomorrow  :happy2:

Going to get my ed30 bumpers painted and fitted along with some mk6 parking sensors which are also waiting to be fitted.

Last thing to buy will be the RNS 510. End of summer for that hopefully!

To say I'm buzzing is an understatement. Can't wait to fit them.

Wheels looking like new mate...  :happy2:
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

Silver is the way !

Finally getting the car to stage 1 tomorrow morning at Autotune. Can't wait! Just done a full service and for 155k miles, there's not a thing wrong.

Here's how it currently stands - not much has been done, except for a bit of polishing of the exhaust.

From this:

To this:

So it's not looking too bad - next plan is to get a new NI reg on it with some new numberplates as these are tired:

Will report back tomorrow with how the performance tune has gone!

Well, it went to stage 1 for 2 years and it was great to be honest.

Since then, I bought a cheap black 2005 3 door with 8(!) previous owners last November with the intention of taking it to the Nurburgring in April of this year for a friend's stag do. Covid clearly got in the way of that. Sold that one last month for a very small profit after doing a lot to it (adding MFSW to it, full RNS 510 with Fiscon bluetooth and a few cleanup bits and pieces).

Started to get more of a hankering for something different after 6 years with the Edition 30 replica. So I went again to England over the weekend and brought home a nice 2013 facelift Audi S4 Avant in white.

And so, tonight I sold this! Was a great car and kind of sad to see it go but I'm happy to bifurcate my relationship with it rather than hold on to the bitter end. It was the first car that I owned, so will definitely miss it.
