Aerial connection issues
« on: November 11, 2014, 09:55:49 am »
Have installed a Pioneer single din for time being using an adapter lead. Issue is my RCD300 has 2 aerial connections on the back and adapter only has one plug.....hence my reception aint great. Any thoughts ?

Your reception isn't great because OEM headunits will power the antennas so that the OEM amplifier in each antenna work (found in both sides of the inner lining of the rear window).

Aftermarket headunits don't power the antenna so you get a weaker signal. You might solve your problem fitting an amplified inner antenna. I think Blaupunkt sells them, for example.

you might need something like this, to amplify the FM signal that the OEM headunit does inside, but aftermarket unit does not
