mfd2 aux point
« on: November 12, 2014, 05:52:25 pm »
Hi all. Iv looked through a few threads but can't seem to find what I want. Iv just got a mfd2 sat nav for my golf and I want an aux point putting in but I'd like to have the aux point next to the tc and winter switch in the console so it looks more like a oem install?  Is this possible or are there any other options? I have an ipod but also a samsung s5 so want something I can use both with or maybe plug play and charge the ipod?

The aux input is fairly pants, I thinks it's a phono jack, the mdi kit enables either usb or iphone connections. I might be wrong. Theresa's mdi kit in the for sale section

You can get one of those from ebay or aliexpress.com.

It's not the same, you'd have to change at least one wire, because they have different pin placements.

This kit will work and probably has instructions explaining where you should place each wire depending on the headunit you have: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221588394023.

Just follow this pinout image:

Just not sure about the rear plug. I know it has to be a 18-pin connector and that item from the ebay doesn't have this:

You can always get the correct 18-pin connector and fit in the ebay aux-in.

I think you might need to fit the 18-pin plug I put above. If you get the Aux-in adapter that you can found it on electronic stores, I'm sure you'll be able to retrofit the Aux-in like you want to.

Aux-in adapter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360549569833.
