This forum has become a valuable resource recently so it was about time I got involved.
I purchased on 2005 GTI a little over a year ago it cost me £3995 and at the time it had 120k on the clock. Over the course of this year I've put 25k on it and other than a broken window regulator and corroded ABS ring its been excellent.
I was contemplating replacing it with something else this year but I really can't find anything I'd find as enjoyable thats within my budget. So I've decided to keep it for the foreseeable future and start retrofitting various bits and pieces.
I've already got a RNS 510 on the way and I invested in VCDS Micro-CAN interface (happy to assist others who need fault codes reading etc). After a few driver more convenience retrofits such as cruise control, bluetooth, xenons. I plan on moving on to performance modifications, I have in the past owned and modified a Nissan 200SX to the extent that I undertook a forged engine rebuild myself which was a great success.
I know all too well how the pursuit of performance can become addictive you always wanting more so I think I will start with a stage 1 map probably from Rtech based on what I've been reading on here then take it from there.
