which tail pipe design guys
« on: November 15, 2009, 12:50:42 pm »
to get the ,ost from my car im stilla few mods short.

I have the money now to either get:

a
Cat back exhaust
or a
forge twintercooler

which should i get,

initially i was after the intercooler. as i was having probs with theinlet temps very quickly. so far with this new map(of which ive been abusing quite a bit) i have had no such problems.
plus its winter so the temps are much lower and will continue to drop.

I already have a 3"pipewerx downpipe and cat, so the std 2.5" cat back could be restricting the exhaust system a bit. Also with the additional flow of exhaust gases that could reduce engine temps as well maybe??

what gains could i expect with each
By early nextr year i will have both anyway, but need to make the choice now

input appreciated guys.

Sy :happy2:

I would get the cat back personally mate, I dont think it will free up too much power, but should free up the revs a little more and could possible bring the temps down slightly (no expert) , you will also get a some sound too so whilst you've got the cold winter that would be my choice then buy the intercooler in spring ready for summer  :happy2:

Catback.
As you've said- you are heading into winter.

(wheras it is just warming up down here, so an intercooler is on order for me!)

Its cold now, no need for an intercooler until March/April.

I'm not a fan of loud exhausts, but if you want it, get it

.... x 2.  Cat-back first.

And when it's intercooler take your time checking out the 3 main contenders: Forge, S3, TSH. There's also APR but is it really worth the extra money?

Agreed, go for the exhaust first, and get the cooler in March, when it will start to be needed

well  think im decided on the cat back now. which one do i buy though, pipewrx, blueflame or non res miltek.  i wanted to choose the cat back TBH, you guys just helped make it sound like the right decision.
(wander if it'll heat soak with 3 power runs on the dyno in surrey??

As for intercooler there are 3 choices, For some reason i want two out of the three. I really want to try the S3 and forge together. Anybody done that on here??

Cat back as has been said, seeing as it is winter no need for IC.  :signLOL:
