Hi all , ive just brought a golf gti mk5  ive wanted 1 for years  and managed to find a nice fully loaded one :) I have a few questions about it  I hope this is the right place to post this .
1st ,  ive noticed when I open the door via remote on key  the drivers  door makes a  strange noise but only when I open , when I lock its fine , the noise is like a vibration sound ? make any sense ?   2nd is  the  boot handle has corroded can I fix this ? also how do you use cruse control and auto wipers ? any help would be great thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum
1.the noise when you open the door will be the door module i would think it making the noise you mention
2.take it your gti is a early one with the white worm, you can either paint it like i did or replace it with a later badge
3: cruise control works over 60 mph i thing and you should have a slide switch on the indicator stalk

My cruise control works for whatever speed I select or currently going.

I press the left button of the left stalk to activate and turn the upper button to the right to deactivate.

Welcome to the forum.
