Thanks mate!

I use Dodo Juice Supernatural Tyre Dressing.
Maybe the detailing gurus can recommend something even better.

Where did you feed the wire from the battery to the amp thru the engine bay? I've done them before but can't find an easy way thru...?

I have DSG so there is a hole where the clutch would be.

Me too, I'll have a look. If not I'll try behind the glove box

Remove the battery and the holder, below that follow the loom to find the grommet in the fire wall, when I did it I cut one of the rubber udders off (you will know when you see them) poke some firm wire through and it will come out quite high up in the passenger footwell (uk cars)

Its just a way of life.

Washed the car this morning then got caught in the rain this afternoon  :sad1:

I usually take the beater if there is a chance of rain but its currently parked 2km away from my house due to all the tourists taking my spot :fighting:

Think i may try some hard protection for the paint can anyone recommend anything? Its 30º+ at the moment and dusty.

Did manage to fit the Climair wind deflectors this week. Fooking expensive but i do like them.

When installing my interior LED's i noticed the glove box light was not working.

There was no switch on the back of the glove box which was a bit strange.

Took the glovebox out today its been removed before and someone made a complete mess of it. What job would need the glove box removed?

The screw above the ashtray was completely sheared off 2 of the remaining screws were missing a controller that should be secured to the side of the glovebox was just flapping about ( i think it has something to do with the airbag as i says handle with care ) Also ac pipe for cooling the glovebox was not attached. Should there also be a trim piece that covers the cabin filter??

Installed new switch now working as expected.

Yes there is supposed to be a cover over where the pollen filter goes. Mine was also missing when I bought it in February.  I'd get it replaced before winter comes round because it lets in a massive draft behind the dashboard. The car gets very cold if your driving at decent speeds.

Picked up a replacement at VW, think it was around £12

What on Earth has someone done to your GTI?

I think there's a module behind the glove box compartment, other than that I don't know why someone would want to remove it? Just to pass cables it's not really required to remove it...

The cabin filter has a kind of foam cover, fixed by two plastic screws.

It's number 13 that you want. Can't remember the part number though, sorry.
Part 19 is the foam cover that goes above the footwell.

I have the cover that slides in to hold the air filter in place. I need the carpet/foam cover for above the footwell.

Ah right, you just need number 19 then and a couple of number 22 plastic screws to keep it in place.

That module that was flapping about is an afs module to do with autolevelling on xenon lamps.
Just cable tie it to something.

Thanks mate i cable tied it. Why have handle with care if its for the xenons?? When i was pulling the glove box out i thought i may get an airbag in the face.
