Still working on the sub box.

More trimming down. The angle grinder and a 60 grit disk made short work of the Fiberglass.

The back of the box was a bit of a mess a few air spaces next to the bulk mat. Filled this with some filler.

Thanks mate. I can't wait to get it all finished. Even treated my self to a new soldering iron.

Now that the sub box is done i can start on mounting the amps. Still need to switch out the passenger speakers and decide if i will do anything with the rears.

What the Iron or the box??

Its much easier to solder with a decent Iron. Also i've been told the solder makes a big difference as well. I've done a bit of testing the joints seem much cleaner. Solder melts instantly when you touch it with the iron. Not bad for £45. My old iron was 30w this is 60w with temperature control.

Can't believe how much time i'm spending on this  :stupid:

Run remote from fusebox set up relay and powered everything up.

Installed the other HSK in the passenger door.

Still not happy with the placement of everything.  :sad1:

For me the placement looks great!

How did you find the sound with both sides fitted?

I decided as all i needed to do was plug in a couple of wires i would get it all up and running. Easy i thought.

Not so I think the LC6I i bought off eBay is fooked. The channel for the sub should be automatic when it has no signal it should take the signal from the main channel. This did not work.

So i thought as i have cut and run the rear speaker wires to the boot i could use this for the sub. But as i've cut the rear wires the HU no longer sees the rear speakers so i have no fader.

Fixed this with VAGCOM changing option to SoundSystem installed. But now its sending out a Low level output. Surely this cant be run through a line out converter??

Anyway bridged the amp to the fronts (180 W RMS) not really tested it as the kids were asleep.  :sad1:

Wiring on hold awaiting more bits and bobs.

Added a bit of perspex and test cut some vinyl wrap.
