Ticking just after startup
« on: November 13, 2014, 02:35:46 pm »
Hey guys, I have a lovely ticking sound for about 15 seconds on startup when the engine is cold. It is on roughly the same timing as the injectors, but a lot louder. I was initially thinking it was the timing chain, but it goes away. Someone mentioned that it could be hydraulic lifters.

It's a 55 plate MK5 GTi. Any ideas would be wonderful. :)

a good engine flush and service should quiet down the hydraulic lifters  :happy2:
