 :grin: il let mine go for 8k if anyone is interested, 57 plate, 1 owner, 69k miles, fully loaded with leather, nav and 18" monza's etc etc full dealer history, new brakes and michelin tyres all round immaculate throughout  :driver:

I think mk5s have held their price well for the last year or so.

Probably because its a better car then the mk6  :innocent:

I bought mine at the perfect time (just over a year ago) could probably sell it for about what I paid if I hadn't modified it. I dont regret that though, these cars are transformed with a few tweaks. Hope the rest of your ownership is more pleasant.  :happy2:

Sorted the issues with the HIDs, kit was short circuiting on some dodgy wiring from the previous owner. Luckily I have a sparky dad and he tidied everything up beautifully for me.

In regards to the brakes, turns out its not as bad as I initially thought. Only need a o/s caliper and pads both sides doing. £190 from local Vag dealer. Thank you for the offer of the A3 calipers, but id rather keep brakes standard at the moment :)  :happy2: The car was only used on the weekends, so I hope that brake seizure was due to lack of use. Havent given it the full beans really yet as i dont want to do any further damage to the brakes, so going to enjoy hammering my foot in to the carpet when all is done :)
