£9k for an Edition 30
« on: November 16, 2014, 09:15:24 pm »
I am thinking of buying an edition 30 or a gti. I know I will be able to get a lower mileage gti for my money, but what sort of mileage eddie could I be looking at getting for £9000.

70k mile Ed30 or maybe lower is in your price range  :happy2:

But buy on condition rather than mileage. Plenty of sheds out there with low miles, and plenty of high mile cars that are like new: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,89950.0.html

Yeah good point, I think I want the k04 as less needed for good power plus hold their value better than a normal gti. Would you say 70k is ok if it had been well looked after fsh and so on.

Mine has 72k now and runs just fine. Niki @ R-Tech has 120k on his ed30, it doesn't stop him pushing the limits of it and he ain't broke it yet  :signLOL:

The car in the link above has 167k and looks like it's barely done 67k.

FSH and a stack of receipts is what you want  :happy2:

That was 6 months ago.

Mine has 67k and in two years of my ownership has had all the suspension changed, refurbed brakes, second cambelt kit & routine maintenance gone mental.

Look at each car individually rather than rule in or out due to mileage I would say.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Mine's around 75k. I can think of very few parts on it that are more than 10k old.
Serviced every 5k, 2 Cambelt changes...
