Folding mirrors
« on: November 16, 2014, 09:50:47 pm »
Good evening folks, just a quick question, which I'm sure many will know the answer to. My golf is fitted with electric/heated folding mirrors.
The question I have is, can the mirrors/car be coded to fold the mirrors on locking, unfold on unlocking?
My brother has a full vagcom/vcds as he bought it when he bought an older S6 as he thought it may be useful!!!! We have played around with the basics on it, but other than fault reading etc we haven't ventured very far with it.

Cheers folks, Rich

It can be done but not without a bill to change the door controller - the person to contact is Eddie-NL he'll be able to supply the part either pre- coded or advise on the install.

you would need a seat leon door controller. Not sure exactly which one though

It's in the search..

This is golfman's vehicle build thread:-

Page 5 has a YouTube video of the mod your after - either him or Eddie-NL is the way forward depending on your location within the UK.

Afaik they fold the same amount the manual ones do. Mk6 ones fold in more though so do touran ones.

It's a pretty poor fold in comparison to other models for all the modding required.

this explains everything. SI has done loads of things you didn't think are possible on the mk5. I would recommend joining R32OC just to look at his how to guides
