Wooo another problem!!! First cambelt and water pump, then interior rattle, then HID kit blowing, then rear o/s caliper seizing and on the way home from work this morning (night owl), I have an engine fault light!!

Plugged my diagnostic box into it and comes up with P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow. This initially happened when the car had around 15 mile on the fuel gauge, so not drastically low on gas, but part of me thinks that maybe a bit of sludge has crept in to the fuel system and stopped this Emission Control System working properly for a short while. I don't know whether to clear the code myself and see if it crops up again (may cause more damage as there may still be an issue and ive got rid of any indication), or when I get my brakes done on Friday at my Vag specialist, whether they should take a look.

Really tempted to cut my losses and sell, these problems have put a right downer on the whole GTI experience, ive only owned the car for a few weeks and have had problem after problem. Seemed a brill car when I bought it, and have always wanted to own one!

The faults aren't that expensive so stay with it!

This is worth a read on the P0441 fault

Thanks a lot, was wondering what the black box was next to the washer fluid. Attached my HID ballasts to it and have recently had cambelt and water pump done so mechanics may have damaged some of the piping. Will check tomorrow.

Cheers!
