Which BBK? TTRS or AP Racing?

Hi Chaps

Just after some advice. I have the offer of a 6 pot AP Racing set up with 360mm discs and Ferodo DS2500s. The kit is SH and therefore i can't be sure on pad and disc life. Price is £1050.

My question is, is this a better option than a 362mm TTRS set up from AKS, which would be new, albeit a touch more expensive initially?

Any advice would be great. Mainly fast road use but car will be used more and more on track as time goes on and I get a new daily.

I have been in a 600bhp Evo 9 and driven a 400bhp evo 10 hard around Oulton Park with AP brakes. They are awesome bits of kit!

See, I have my heart set on Porsche calipers, but I still admire the TTRS BBK, in either it's 340mm or bigger versions. Only reason I would say the AP Racing brakes over these is the AP racing are 6 pistons?

I put this kit together myself for just over £1000




I can't say anything about the AP setup but I can tell you the TTRS setup is amazing, I had the R32 setup which was good but these are on another level. They stop hard and I haven't got them to fade yet (fast road use), I've been very thankful for them during a few brown trouser moments.

I was going to make a thread asking the same thing earlier.

I'm also on the hunt for new brakes as the Turbo install beckons. Not sure TTRS calipers with 362mm discs will put up with track and fast-road punishment? But don't want AP's because of the lack of dust shield.

Anyone have any advice? Will need to stop a 400bhp 1560kg R32 lol

You'll need RS4 8 pots probably to stop that monster.

It’s just a sticker at the end of the day dude... When I had Boxster 986 calipers they had Brembo stamped on them as do my new Aston 4 Pots which are the same as the TTRS/RS3 ones.
