I was going to make a thread asking the same thing earlier.

I'm also on the hunt for new brakes as the Turbo install beckons. Not sure TTRS calipers with 362mm discs will put up with track and fast-road punishment? But don't want AP's because of the lack of dust shield.

Anyone have any advice? Will need to stop a 400bhp 1560kg R32 lol

You'll need RS4 8 pots probably to stop that monster.

I was thinking about this, but the pedal feel is crap I've heard. All the braking is low on the pedal when its being pushed

I spoke to Alex at AKS and someone else who runs them on a MK5 GTI and they said they they're not too bad but yes they could benefit from a master cylinder upgrade.

With 2 piece discs and some aggressive pads the TTRS setup might be OK? But that would cost £2k whereas even with the MC upgrade the RS4 setup would cost about the same and could defiantly handle it.

Took the Rocco out for a late night drive around some of my local twisties, every point I came to call on them, they inspired confidence, scrubbing huge speed off in very short distances.
Found a REALLY long private road tonight and got up to 120... slammed on the brakes to dead stop...  short pedal but still able to be modulated progressively... It hauled ass and my mate who was in the car was giggling like a child.

I then did several 90ish to 30, stops almost immediately after, one after the other over the course of about 2 or 3 roundabouts within one mile of each other and then a final 80 to nothing stop and while I got a hideous smell of brakes there was no discernable fade.

Wheels are now caked in dust though, will have to clean them up tomorrow. Iron X would be funny to try. :P

I do notice the rear end gets a bit... um... floaty. But that's because the entire weight of the vehicle is going forwards... basic physics, a rear brake upgrade wouldn't go a miss... but more for looks really. You will balance it out a little bit, at least the rear upgrade is nice and cheap

Stock CR170 rears. I guess they are 286 but I'm not sure.

Do the R32 rears help with the back end floating/ wiggling? Is it worth the money?

I like a floaty rear end.... helps steer it around corners.

I get some squirm on track days even with s3 rears.  Maybe an excuse for 330mm rears :)

They do help though, probably further still with a 'sporty' pad.

I would imagine 4 piston rears are for those running 4 wheel drive and huge power?
