New MKV Gti owner from Ireland
« on: November 25, 2014, 03:43:43 pm »
Hi everyone. Just got myself a 2008 Tornado Red MKV DSG.  Spec is pretty basic but lots of mods planned for it.  This site is a great resource.

First on my list of tasks is Timing Belt, WP and Service from VW Thursday.

Just out of curiosity what's your last name as it begins with R I guess and so does mine lol and we're both called Kieran!

Welcome along Kieran. While you're in with VW you may as well get brake fluid service if it hasn't being done in the past couple of years, it's good value @ €50 fixed price.

Welcome Kieran. As I said elsewhere, clean looking MK5, red really does suit them

Cool will get them to do that aswell. It's just at 60k miles now so will change spark plugs too. Can't wait to get good tyres up  front. Feckin low thread acceleras on it at the moment. Wouldn't be confident pushing it with them!

Good tyres will make all the difference. Went from a mixed set of chinese ditch finders to Uniroyal Rainsports on our car and couldn't be happier. They really suit greasy Irish roads..
