You could get a big brake kit (s3 kit in the FS area for £300-350) You won't believe how much better they are until you've tried them

For the money you would spend on uprated disks & pads on standard GTI calipers, you may as well buy a bigger brake kit that comes with everything
How about trying some grooved 312s with ebc yellowstuff pads, not too costly, amazing performance without the weight penalty of the s3/r32 brakes.
