I went from the civic type r to the gti. As much as i loved the type r he is right the golf is a far better car allround.
First time i've seen this make me proud i made the right choice lol.
Yes i sold my ep3 Type R in favour of my 1st mk5 Gti in 2009, best thing i ever did!
Type R was great but got bored of it very quickly and the lack of torque was quite annoying too

Yeah the torque was poor. I spent a fortune on cams etc before i gave up though so cost me a small fortune lol.
Ep3 was great for that 5 min for fun on the country roads but day to day golf wins hands down. Not saying the golf isn't fun though.
