Haven't seen it for years until today
Great video, great review for the mk5

mk5 Gti is a great great car today in nearly 2015 we kind of forget just how amazing it was in 2004 when was released

I remember watching that back in 2006 (I think) and making a promise to myself I'd own a mk5 GTI when I was old enough. :happy2:

That was the video that really swayed me to get a Mk5 GTI (still enjoy watching it to this day and feeling just a tad smug when i do, also makes me want to go out for a drive). To be fair the 5th Gear review though a bit stale in comparison to Jezza's effort is also very strong in its praise and convinced me i was on to a good thing (so long as i got a good one)  :driver:

The advert I remember is the guy that looses everything in Monte Carlo casino ... except the keys to his Golf GTI. I bought that car 6 years later, the 16V no less with a massive 130bhp ! Having said that the red line of my first GTI is higher than my current GTI.  :driver:

That was in 91.

I went from the civic type r to the gti. As much as i loved the type r he is right the golf is a far better car allround.

First time i've seen this make me proud i made the right choice lol.

Yes i sold my ep3 Type R in favour of my 1st mk5 Gti in 2009, best thing i ever did!
Type R was great but got bored of it very quickly and the lack of torque was quite annoying too

Ti great all round motor
