Which EXHAUST IS best for sound!
« on: December 03, 2014, 12:50:21 am »
I need an exhaust that will make my GTI sound crazy! What would you guys recommend, preferably DECAT and what are the price ranges along with drawbacks. Live in Leicester so preferably local... Hope to hear from you soon! :fighting:  :drinking:

I've got a 3" exhaust leading to a non-resonated Milltek backbox and I personally think it sounds awesome. It's actually very quiet when pottering around, genuinely sounds the same as stock (perhaps a TINY bit louder) but as soon as you put your foot down it just comes alive.

Got a few videos of it but the videos seriously do it no justice, it sounds like so much more in person.

A lot of wind noise but you can see how quiet it is driving around normally.

It's actually a heck of a lot louder than that in real life, like I said the mic doesn't really pick up the sound that well.

I've heard the BCS exhausts are pretty good and their customer support seems very good too but I've not heard their exhausts in person, there are videos on YouTube of their exhausts though.

If you want it that loud, maybe you should just get a straight pipe?

Without trying to sound rude, use the search bar at the top, as there's hundreds (and I mean hundreds) of posts related to exhausts on the forum already. Have a bit of time spare to take it all in, but it should give you everything you need to know. :happy2:

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

APR RSC exhaust sounds the nuts.

Try YouTube videos of BCS etc. . .

Tbh very loud exhausts sound great when your 18 years old, then the drone just gets annoying. A nice tone which disappears when cruising FTW :happy2:

My view is (always is and will never change) .......

BCS Sport Powervalve system with a low cell cat is what your after which will give you the best of all worlds ie. MOT legal, great for flow and thus mapping, quiet but with a nice burble while pottering around town, epic soundtrack when on WOT and the valve opens bipassing the central silencer and a great price as forum members get a great discount from the chaps at BCS.

Give them aa call.
