Warranty
« on: December 04, 2014, 06:26:35 pm »
Hi all I've been to vw about some rust under the boot badge on my mk5 , they have said its a manufactor error and they will pay 50% of the cost Leaving me to pay £280 , I've rung vw customer services and they said  its up to the retailer and as the car has never been to that vw there's no loyalty , where do I stand ? It has 12 year manafacture warranty.  It's not via stone chips or any damage its def a defect. Thanks

As far as I'm aware a warranty doesn't require the car to be serviced by the dealer. Find the warranty conditions and have a read. The boot isn't a usual area to rust but if its down to damage then 50% contribution is the best deal you'll get.
