Comms are blocked, not 100% whether the power source to the OBD socket is though. Anyone have a multimeter to hand? :)

He must of had a key already cut or a selection of generic ones or picked it there and then, so he turned ignition on and bypassed immobiliser via obd port?

Should this topic be cleaned up a bit or are we ok leaving it public?

It's fine to discuss

But people need to present the information more accurately.
Clearly the thief was in possession of SOME keys.
You can steal any car pretty much if you had a set of keys which worked to get the ignition on but not start the car as you can get tools to reprogram immo for most manufacturers.
Not really a big deal IMO.

I think the thief has got a cloned key (Some friendly vw source or similar who has given him the key from index plate and chassis number) and he has programmed it (Don't know how they do it) by his trips backwards and forwards to the door .

Watch the video but just watch the alarm light and how it is very inconsistent ?? It also looks like the alarm light is not so bright some of the time too . It stops and starts like something is interfering with the ?signal? or whatever causes it to flash ?? Watch the light flashes in conjunction with the mans movements too .

The last time he comes back to the car he knows the door is open (the alarm light last flashed at 3.31m and he opens door at 3.59m he walks straight up to it without putting anything in the door lock and opens it , just like you would if you opened it with your remote . He definitely has a key as he is able to start the car and undo the steering lock with no force , this is impossible without a key .

So another question ... how do you programme a cloned key to fit the car ?
