Revo Intake Install K03
« on: December 11, 2014, 05:59:19 pm »
I'm probably being a muppet as usual  :signLOL:

The intake is in place but no clamps are tightened yet.

The black shield piece is installed at the lowest possible height.

The bolt to the engine is in.

But the intake is touching the brake reservoir and the bottom of the black shield.

WTF have i done wrong?

I feel like there should be some type of bracket to go on the engine mounting point as a few mil higher everything will fit perfectly.

Have you done the little screw that goes into the pipe adjacent to the battery about half way up the length of the pipe, have you got a picture of what you've got so far?

Have you tightened down the silicone pipe to the turbo and it also looks like the plastic spacer is missing from the screw on the intake pipe to the engine.

Also make sure the shield is sat properly

It's a tight fit but will fit.

Andy

Plastic spacer is there I did loose one washer which i will replace.

The pipe is on but not clamped.

Obviously you guys will not have this problem as the reservoir is on the other side.

Would there be a different intake for a LHD??

Here it is on mine, shame the engine cover is on.

You've got me thinking now about the brake fluid tank now and that yours is LHD!

I think that's the answer mate, sorry it never crossed my mind about being LHD

Bodged a fix for now.

Its a little wobbly on my temporary bracket but the shield at the front stops it going to far.
Added some vacuum tubing to the sharp bits on the shield just incase there is any rubbing.

Cant wait to introduce the family to Darth Vader tomorrow.

Sorry I couldn't help you out, mine is a bit different and didn't have any issues, my brake fluid is on the other side and the shield is a slightly different.

So after all that work the wife is not impressed with the revo intake.

Even under normal driving it does not stop making noises.

Any options? Can i box it off?

TBH i did not expect it to sound like @Pikey Motorsports car under normal driving.

Did you put the additional trim protector around the edges of the hole on the heat. Shield?
