mfd2, ipod/iphone usage?
« on: December 12, 2014, 03:40:41 pm »
Guys,

I currently have a 57 plate ed30 with the MFD2 sat nav fitted and disc changer in the centre armrest console. I've looked through the forum on upgrades etc , but what i really want to do is be able too use my iPod/iphone 4s in the car to play music without changing the head unit or disc changer if thats possible. Any ideas? maybe an aux cable i could plug in somewhere or worst case scenario unplug the cd changer and plug something in there?

I had the same setup in my GT and also wanted iPod connectivity without changing anything. I used the XcarLink interface which sits between the MFD2 and changer allowing you to keep the changer but also have the iPod.

You can control the iPod through the MFD2 trough the CD changer controls so no modifications are needed. I have some pics and loads of info on my build thread around page 2-3 for it if your interested. Still got it in one of my bits boxes.
