Dsg is due help
« on: December 15, 2014, 10:11:53 pm »
Looking for some help my dsg has dropped out of gear a few times over the last few weeks for example I was in cruse control today at 70 ,car starts to slow, ie feels like disengagement of the gearbox,  put my foot on the gas and it will Rev high with no forward momentum? Then gear engages and I can accelerate as normal any suggestions?

I've had it serviced twice since I've owned the car ie at 40 and 80000.

If you've got access to VCDS then you could try the reset above.

Took it to local vw garage and it's showing dsg oil/temp sensor fault! 65 quid for replacement, not to bad but after a large amount of digging on the tt forum and various others, I'm starting to think my mechatronics unit needs replaced!!! Has anyone got any advice on doing this including a rough cost.? I've read that awesome could possibly stock overhauled units?

update on the gearbox issue, its going into vw to be assessed end of jan, fingers crossed! the service manager seemed quite upbeat about asking vw the question on some sort of good will gesture, especially when i mentioned that it could be a safety issue. I also mentioned the recall that was conducted in the usa and asked my dealer if he had herd of this issue before, he said that he had and would offer me a courtesy car whilst he looked into the problem!!!! i really hope they can help!!
