Star button on MFSW
« on: August 24, 2016, 03:52:02 pm »
Hi,

I've recently picked up a MK5 Golf with a multifunction steering wheel, it has the star button on it which is supposed to mute the audio. When I press it, it activates voice commands which is useless to me as I don't have a mic. I've managed to change this now via VCDS but the only way I can have the star button to mute is if I disable cruise control for some reason.

Anybody had experience with this? There seems to only be an option for MFSW with CC and VC or without CC and VC, I need with CC and without VC haha.

Can this be done?

Thanks

It can be done. I had my GT Sport originally like the way you want yours. I later got a mic retrofitted.

You have to change the wheel and radio coding to make it work as you want. It was my friend who retrofitted everything that did the coding part too so I'm not sure what to do exactly. Keep trying and don't forget the reset the RNS-510 after you change the radio coding.

I've tried and tried, I can get it to work but that then disables cruise control for some reason
