GTi Dsg fuel economy poor!

Hi i have had my Gti Dsg for few months and  has 101k on the clock but im struggling to get good mpg from it it struggles to get to 25mpg and thats taking it easy!,
I have removed the pre Cat
I have changed the Dv for a G version as my original one was torn
Changed the pcv for N version
Changed Fuel filter
Cleaned the Maf sensor , Intake temp and Map sensor.
Checked spark plugs and Air filter.
Swaped N80 valve for a Known working one.
Swaped before Cat lambda sensor for a Known working one.
There are no codes in Vcds

Im a bit stumped any help apreciated Thanks

lol Looking at other 2.0 tfsi owners they are getting 30-40 mpg out of the 2.0 tfsi which makes me think mine is no where near?

What grade petrol are you using?

Check tyre pressures too?

I have been using tesco 99 and i did check the tyre pressures were ok.

25 mpg seem's about right at this time of the year when it's quite cold,I get around 20mpg but I am in a DSG MK6 R!Only seen 30mpg+ in the summer.

It does not really reach 25mpg unless i drive really carefully , i am getting about 280miles to a full tank.

To be fair mate 280 miles from a tank isn't that far off really! Best im seeing is 310-320 miles to a tank on a 51 litre fill up which is working out at about 28.5mpg average and yours works out at 24.5mpg
I do alot of short journeys so all my fuel gets burned away on the warm up process for a 6 mile journey to work etc although if i do a bit of a run and set cruise to 65mph can achieve 42mpg (standard 2007 Gti 69k miles)

Do also remember that Dsg is apparently a little worse on fuel compared to my manual according to factory figures!

Im lucky enough to have best of both worlds as the wife gas a 2008 Gt tdi 140 which returns around 550 miles on a tank 

Mine is for pleasure hers is the mile eater
As good as the Gt is she still much prefers the Gti to drive, so smooth in comparison and heaters dont take an age to get warm like they do in the diesel

What made you change the maf as they very rarely go wrong on the Gti and not a cheap item to replace for a genuine Vw item?

My average ATM is about 22mpg and in the summer its about 25mpg. Fuel prices are plummeting now so it's not something to worry about tbh. I thought mine maybe had an issue because of the mpg but then I remembered its a performance car and you've got to feed the ponies

Are we talking 280miles of motorway bashing or city "stop start""

On a run up the m'way you should be able to get 30 easy enough sat at 70-80.

I'd say yours has a problem. Do you keep the boot full of stuff?

Brakes sticking slightly ON can make a big difference to mpg - including the hand brake.

A clue can be the wheel with most brake dust on it.

Also will the car easily roll down even the slightest slope ?

Sounds normal for a city run.

On the motorway around 30 is what I get.

Sorry folks, I hate it when people do this, but I get 35mpg every day on my commute (A road country lanes, not motorway) and on a sensible 20 mile run this week, got the right side of 40mpg. Best EVER way nearly 50 on a very long run at 60mph.... If you're not seeing at least 30mpg, something is wrong....
