I am still waiting to click some decent pictures of all the audio equipment fitted.

In the interim, I've ordered some performance upgrades from K&N - Oil Filter, Air Filter and a Typhoon CAI. All this is in anticipation of my visit to R-Tech next weekend. They don't fit any parts and want all this done before the Stage 1. So next week I'll get all this installed and should be good to go!  Pics to follow

PS* R-Tech told me to return the GFB DV+ I had bought (£100) as they will fit a standard Revision D/G DV or PVC on-site if required. Their fitted price is almost the same price if parts bought from dealership. Sounds good to me and now the money saved from returning the DV+ can go towards the K&N Upgrade

They normally put a sticker with date near your spare tyre once done but best to just call VW to confirm.

By the way, how is the new sound system? Bet they are mental

I'll check the spare and call VW as well. Guessing I will only need the VIN # for them to verify?
Sound system is AWESOME! Can feel the bass in the chest, hair, clothes and pretty much the entire car :jumping: I have to keep it really low where I live (and in the parking) otherwise the neighbours would go berserk. They're already unhappy with my Onkyo Home Theatre Setup and the Corsair SP2500 (for PC). I love my audio  :innocent:

Hi mate, yes, of course! I forgot that this is just an Intro Forum  :chicken: You're right, this thread is definitely more like a build log now and I have more things planned for future. Please move to the appropriate section

I am just waiting to click some pictures - have done several little mods and getting a K&N Oil Filter and Typhoon CAI fitted this week. Later this week Stage 1 ECU+DSG Remap will be performed at R-Tech. Stay tuned!

New respiratory system!!
K&N Typhoon CAI and Pro Series Oil Filter. Engine flush will be performed and oil replaced with Castrol Edge FST (last changed in Jan 14).

I wouldn't do an engine flush if I were you, heard from many sources (general car parts places right up to tuning companies) that it's a very dangerous thing to do, especially with turbo charged engines. You're far better off changing the oil, doing just 1000 miles then changing it again to flush the engine but in all honesty it's really not worth it. Just stick to 10,000 mile services, or 5000 miles if you want an extra clean engine.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Oh, wasn't aware of that  :scared: So just an engine oil change without flush then?
What are your thoughts about Redex? The mechanic I spoke with highly discouraged its' use and recommended some other product (BG 44) instead.

Just do an oil change, much easier, quicker and safer. As for fuel injector cleaners, again, I've been advised against them. They're good to use once on older cars that used to be filled up with lower grades (and lower purity) fuel but these days most fuels are much, much cleaner and the better brands usually contain cleaning agents anyway to reduce the build up of dirt in injectors.
