Anyone running 400lbft+ on a DSG box?
« on: December 23, 2014, 02:33:20 pm »
Hi guys,

Dropped my car off to Gaz Jones today for my yesterday to be installed

I'm a bit confused what to do gearbox wise. I'm DSG and will be running between 380 and 400lbft for the time being however next year I will be upgrading to 450bhp or possibly 500bhp.

I've decided to keep the stock clutches for the time being until I up the power.

Now here's my question,

What clutches and software are you guys with 400lbft+ running and how does your DSG handle the power?

Thanks in advance

Tej  :happy2:

Not denying that last bit as well? :P Wouldn't Pikey Motorsport be another good guy to ask?

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

I got that too. Traffic all the way home.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Limit is around the 450lb mark but obviously some are stronger than others, as with manual clutches

Try talking to @Jussa too as he is running around the 450lb mark so can give you some views and advice  :happy2:

Uprated clutch packs are very expensive indeed

You need a DSG remap to increase the clamping pressure on the clutch packs to hold 450lbft
NOW: 2015 Golf R DSG 5 Door, Lapiz Blue, 19s, Discover Nav, Reversing Camera
GONE:2007 Black GTI Edition 30 3dr
