^^^ D and S only change on the Stage 2 map which is the one for K04 Stage 2+ & Big Turbo cars, they are slightly more aggressive.

Even then they only change the full throttle mapping and not the part throttle.

So for traffic and motorways it makes no difference  :happy2:

cool thanks steve, has to be made simple for my small but not quite peanut sized mind

im left in a predicament though as to wether im gonna end up going to 2+ any time soon! maybe i should just get the Stage 2 DSG software now unless there will be a way to upgrade in the future without buying it twice  :scared:

The REVO DSG remap deal is only on till the 31st Dec and after that it will cost you another £240 to buy it unless you DON'T already have a REVO ECU remap, in which case it is only going to cost you an extra £10 (VAT goes back to 17.5% in Jan 2010) :happy2:

^^^^

"Shift maps: Stage1 DSG software Drive and Sport shift maps are based on the sportiest available factory specification maps. With our global market, we have access to, and have been able to test all factory variants and hand pick the sportiest factory maps upon which to base our shift maps. European GTi maps have slightly increased rpm shift points for different throttle positions over other factory versions, giving a sportier drive to cars running other regional software".

....Wow! Does that mean that D and S-modes now have sportier shift thresholds in the new release?

I don't much use D and S nowadays but look forward to using S more once I've updated at JKM.

Well I have put nearly 500 miles on mine since being updated to the production version of the stage 2 DSG map.

S Mode is as unusable as ever (IMHO) but the revised D mode on the Stage 2 map is a vast improvement. The part throttle control is as before but full throttle mapping is slightly more aggressive and feels suited to the car.  :happy2:

It really makes the car feel faster, which just reminds me I really need to get some better brakes sorted  :signLOL: :signLOL:
