boost leak possible dv?
« on: December 26, 2014, 01:41:17 pm »
so the other day had no choice but to put Morrisons fuel in...and thats the last it can remember off my boost :( haha

so my car gets up to 2500k then tries to boost but just goes flat...is this a possible DV leak?

I tried fitting my boost gauge but it was abit off a bodge job seen as it was xmas day yesterday, and only when you really put your foot down it went up to a measly 5psi

My car should be circa 260-270bhp...what should it be?

i need my power back :(

cheers

Likely suspect is a faulty DV, worth replacing regardless if you're pulling it out for an inspection. Other areas to look at are the pipes to your intercooler, if they've failed (either the connections or the pipes themselves), could be another reason for it.

My dad replaced his with a newer one, so im gonna try that one but in this weather i really cant be bothered ha
Mine was the newer one tho im sure off it :/

basically on a closed road *cough* we use a lot i get around 10mph less , so i dont know if thats a big boost leak or small ?

When it does try boost im sure its the dv that sounds different but off course its gonna...ill report back when ive done it :(

cheers

Both stock versions will fail in time. There's the option of fitting a GFB DV+ or Force recirculating valve.

they may fail but for the price of them its not a big hassle.

GFB DV+...... for the price IMO is not worth it. plus no real gain in getting it either.

Forge Recirc........ have heard Niki at R-Tech isn't a fan (need I say more)  :ashamed:
