saw this last night thought it was a game at first. The spec of the new one is decent 208bhp + 300 toques (i think) from a 1.6T, should be a fun little car.

Maybes, but after 30,000miles it'll drive like it's done 3,000,000 miles

I just thought that it was a good ad.
It's a shame about the actual car....a friend of mine bought a 1.6THi engined 306cc.She had test driven a normally aspirated 1.6 but felt that it didn't have the 'oomph'(her words, not mine) of her previous 2.0 206cc.
Nearly a year down the line and the engine has had to have the timing chains ,tensioners, all belts, plugs and sensors replaced due to a design flaw with these engines that Peugeot won't acknowledge.Even though it affects petrol and turbo diesel engines that have been fitted in the MINI as well as PSA cars.

Yes,some of these engine shared projects must have the Dealers fitters screaming at the extra work and crazy times allowed!

30 years since the 205 gti maybes? Just a guess I'm too young for the early hot hatch days.

Same ploy as the Golf GTI Edition30,I suppose.
30 years since the launch of the 205 GTI,so the 208 30th is branded as it's spiritual successor.

The original 205 1.6 GTI was a great car back in the day, a real game changer and the 1.9 was awesome.

I'd love an Mk1 again.  :notworthy:

I get the golf ed30 as its still a Golf. All I can imagine is its 30years of Peugeot gti's. As long as they make the 208 a killer with step out oversteer with no warning they've cap the 205. I had a 1.6 and many a time it tried to kill me
