bored over the weekend so wrapped the revo pipe in heat tape and exhaust wrap then cleaned and re-oiled the filter





bum dyno,the car felt a bit more responsive so worth the £20 outlay
fitting of the new hubs this week

Brakes look good and the heatwrap looks faster if nothing else!

yes mike 
gonna wrap the dv pipe also,suprisingly warm after a bit of spirited driving

Thats probably because the air going through it is 40 degrees+ !

Well ended up wrapping the dv pipe in the left over exhaust wrap as had no other use for it lol

Finally finished the hub swap.... a long story which i wont go into but its done,ill fit new track rod ends before wheel alignment then the whole lot has been new and will last for years to come:wink:


original steel hubs off and weighed are 8.8kg's so i saved 1.7kg's per side,nothing major but with the brake upgrade weight savings a total saving of 8.2 kgs per side on the front and savings on the walk kit and superpro arms it was well worth it
ill weigh the arms and walk for future reference later

i sourced my hubs off ebay and found a few passat wishbones going cheap pete
also with help from a fellow member sourced an A3 rear crash bar to exchange mine,£30 posted was worth a try lol

all i had to do was drill this hole on the top right to fit the A3 one


1 M8 bolt and nut job done


total weight saving of 1.1kg's
