Just seen the price of a full exhaust system with R32 ends, knock 5-10% off and I reckon I'll be jumping on a group buy in the new year as well.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

I'm also waiting on the GB. Cant wait to get a CBE on my Ed30

May sound like a daft question but what's the difference between the sports prestige CBE system and just the Sports CBE system? @nige bcs

BCS is undoubtably much better quality, and Nige is a really helpful guy  :happy2:

Some folk prefer Milltek, but be wary that there have been numerous cases of welds failing on the downpipes  :scared:

This was only on the 1st versions of the downpipes as the flexi was too short.. Same problem as the early Blueflame  exhausts.

I'm firmly in the corner of miltek. Customer service is and has been 1st class . Especially with my issue I had with an 2008 system that got replaced without quibble in 2014  :innocent:

Very nearly bought Dan's BCS system from his Ed30, when he was selling up, but redundancy week before, so had to pull out. Now have a milltek cat back, which yes, has improved sound etc... the tips have cracked  :sad1:

Just open up another option..
What would it cost roughly to fully decat the standard GTI K03 or ED30 K04 exhaust? meaning the Precat and the main cat?

Im sure this would open up more power / power delivery performance and also more sound if thats all the OP is wanting? Rather than paying out £400+ or possibly £1000+ if going for a new full TB system..

So what I'm saying here is either fully decat standard system or..
Just change the standard downpipe for a 3" aftermarket one and take the main cat out or install a sports cat such as a 100/200 cel cat rather than the standard 800 cel cat?.. Then would you not get the same outcome as you would paying £1000+ for a new full BCS TB exhaust?.. Yeah you don't have BCS stamped on some tips or its not all shiny and have some trickery with valves etc but if your looking to stay on a tight budget and you want some more power / power delivery and more sound.. this could be ideal?..

@CarlW - you're pretty right, a downpipe and sports cat or pre-cat delete unlocks lots of additional power and is cheaper than a full system. Mostly people get the full system as its easier/cheaper to get it fitted all at once.
