i bought some Momentum for the very first time on Sunday (nearest Shell to where we were at at the time had run out of V-power). With clubcard fuel save points I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was only about £1.04 or so a litre, though to be honest i don't use the car enough to be stung that badly by V-power Nitro at £1.30-high a litre or whatever it is these days.

I was driving back through London so have no real clue if there's a difference in performance, doubt it would be anything more than marginal if there is notwithstanding the cleaner engine aspect you get with Shell over Tesco.

Still far cheaper thank the UK prices! :sad1: Looks like all the news reports of a global oil crash are coming true... Could get interesting.

The upto 20p litre saving by shopping at tesco does add up, think i paid £1.107 a litre last week for tesco99, using 4p/l fuel savings.

US is cheaper for Petrol, but the quality is also lower. IIRC, standard non premium/v-power etc is only 91 octane, whereas it's 95 Octane in the UK, with v-power etc being 98 octane.

We don't even get 98 octane here in Ireland :(

Wish we had the choice here, it's 95 or nothing! (Although, Maxol used to sell E5 which they claimed was 98 octane or thereabouts, but unsure if it still is)

↑ That's correct...95 RON = 91 octane and 98 RON = 94 octane.
I run 100 octane low-lead about 1/4 of the time here @ $5.35/gal. We have no E85 stations nearby...but I wish there was  :drinking:
