Have you not read any other topics on this subject recently??? :surprised:

In short - YES they are worth it. You could spend £350 messing around with improving the stock brakes with better disks, pads, fluid & lines and you won't really gain anything on an R32 setup.

Unless you want to spend £800+ on NQSBBK or a BBK, the R32 setup is great  :happy2:

A good setup with disks & pads goes for £300 - £350 these days

You can (at a real push) go for a 4 piston Porsche brake caliper setup (the NQSBBK) for around £600 but you'll be using calipers that'll probably show their miles, stock 312mm discs and normal everyday brake pads.

The 345mm OEM BBK (easier calling it that, it encompasses all the variations) is a well worth upgrade. My girlfreind drives a similar powered GTI to mine but runs stock brakes and you can tell the difference at any speed, both running OEM discs and pads. Another advantage with the 345mm OEM kit is that it fits behind all wheels with no spacers and even the space saver spare fits over them (not that you should ever use that on a front wheel!). Hope that helps you out.

Really comes down to your budget and what you'll use the car for

The 345mm setup is a good improvement over the 312mm standard brakes but does add a fair bit of weight, bang for buck they are good and many guys have done the swap

Depends on your needs, if you're desperate for better brakes (like I was after a remap) then the R32 setup is a big improvement on the standard ones.

If you've got the budget and want something better and lighter then some 4pots are the ones.

I'm currenty running stage 2 at the moment
I would go for some ttrs brakes but then I'll need 12mm spacers and then mess around with trying to get the front wheels to tuck like they are now. . . Yeah it's on air don't hate

Surely if its on air it doesn't get driven anyway?  only joking.

I'm not sure what the clearance on the NQSBBK is like but probably better than the TTRS. If you're not too bothered about weight the R32 setup with some aggressive pads/ braided hoses and decent discs will be a huge improvement on the standard setup.

I found the R32 was plenty good enough for me (stage 1 K03) and that was with braided hoses/ basic pads and dimpled + grooved discs. I went to the TTRS setup because I think I'm an F1 driver and for the weight saving, also the fact the look awesome helps.

I'm running the 340mm TTS discs using DaveB brackets from AKS tuning, I find that for the first 50% of the pedal they're the same which is good because I never jerk to a stop at slow speeds which was a worry I had.

Once you use the next 50% of the pedal though they come into a class of their own, you can feel your cheeks being pulled forward. I've done some really aggressive stops downhill from high speed and they still surprise me how good they are. I'm also yet to make them fade and I've tried pretty hard  :driver:

The R32's were good but when you have to do high speed stops or shave of speed on the motorway quickly they don't compare to these.

The NQSBBK is the way to go if you want 4 piston calipers but without running spacers. They many not perform as well as the Audi TTRS calipers with 370mm discs, but to be honest unless you're taking it to track days then the 345mm OEM is more than enough.

To save weight with the 345mm OEM setup, get a set of TTS 340mm discs. They save a few kilos each side.

Is the NQSBBK kit the Porsche brakes?

There are a few kits that run Porsche brakes, depends on the model Porsche they're coming from will determine which kit you're running. The NQSBBK comes from a Porsche 986 (Boxster S) front calipers. The various kits are all in the product reviews section, worth taking a while reading through all the info there, will help you decide what you want, balancing performance, looks and cost. :happy2:
