Black/white, Orange/green. Dave the superstars s3 didnt run that. Never in a million years did he run a 12.7 at 107mph....maual gearbox, road tyres, stock clutch, stock engine mounts and a full tank of fuel. You will never ever convince me on that one. Stevie.

I remember being a bit shocked when he claimed he did it. But I had no reason to disbelieve him and Al (Djhorace) was there on the day IIRC and confirmed it wasn't completely stripped etc...
Is this BS then mate? I'm only going off what was said when it happened (on this thread).. Or was there some details not disclosed?

I still think it's possible to crack 12's though. My mate's Stage 2+, manual, pre FL S3 did a 13.1 @ 107mph @ Pod on his one and only run there. It was by no means a great run either..

He lives 2mins from me Ron. We have had plenty of "banter" over the years. 13.1 at 107mph is more realistic?? As said before the car was never set up or running the parts to be even close to these figs. Stevie.

Think I'm with Ben, I ran a 13.3 with a stock slipping clutch, big fat 19" CK's and a tent in the boot, at inters though, so 12's should be possible with a bit of effort

I'm not saying 12's are not possible! Not once have i said that. But a 12.7 at 107mph?? You agree with that?? Wow. I will need to say sorry to Dave cause that is very impressive. Gaz even Mr Ron doesnt believe it. There is a man below who ran a 14.05 at 104mph, that is believable. Stevie.

So just to sum up then Stevie, Dave was talking out his arse porkies then? Could of sworn he posted up the link to his results on Crail's website too (might be imagining that though)?

I'm confussed?!?!?

Lets not forget this is Crail and they had only just set up the timing equipment, i dont even believe my own time until i run at one of the other tracks down south. Is there a website that calculates times and speeds?

12's in a manual stage 2+ S3 should be pretty easy imo and certainly wont cost £5k.

Tbh i was thinking maybe we should change this 1/4 mile leader board from being 2.0tfsi based to a forum 1/4 board seen as though theres that many people these days with different cars or that have changed to something new ie polo gti's, ttrs's and 135i's this thread has been pretty quiet over the last year compared to what it was or maybe start a new leader board :popcornsoda:

I'll crack a 12 sec run at pod for you next year pal!

a mapped manual S3 in the 12's would need an awesome launch, but it is doable. If I can get into the 13's with a 1.4, then 12' in a stage 2/2+ S3 should be easy
Golf R gone.

Here is the S3 in question. My old Leon is first up vs a 290bhp Focus ST and the S3 is at 41 seconds vs a 290bhp VXR.
