I was more just wondering if using the launch control and throttle conventionally was much quicker than using hand controls?

Its got to be a bit less scary launching with at least one hand on the steering wheel  :signLOL:

So how do you launch in yours Neil? There could be a way to make it a little easier..

The hand controls are opperated by my right hand and are Push (brake) and Pull (throttle) therefore you can only do one or the other and not together, so to use launch control I have a short pole which I use to hold down the brake with my left hand and rev with my right hand, and yes it was pretty f***ing scary the first time I tried it.  :jumping:

Ok got ya..

Well something which would be trick to do is to have 'launch' button on the wheel.. It would simply mimic the brake switch signal to the ECU and would be like being on the brake, without actually having to operate the brake pedal..  That would enable you to set the DSG into launch mode whilst being able to have both hands on the wheel, and should be a fairly easy job really..

To launch all you would do is release the 'launch' button..

Thats got me thinking, although I would still need to rev with my right hand thats a good idea, a friend who also drives/races with hand controls has had his paddle shift controls moved to the Up/Down volume controls on his steering wheel by VW racing so they may be the people to see. Thanks JonnyC.  :happy2:

Just have the button such that it can be operated with your right thumb..

Bit of an over sight on my part..

I have now opened it up to TSI engines too, as we all know, its pretty much the same, so now people with Scirocco's and MK6 GTI's can play too..

Let me know if anyone has a problem with this, dont think there should be though  :happy2:

Excellent idea Jonny (dont you just hate it when someone mentions the bloody obvious that never crossed your mind!!).

As you said you only need to mimic the brake switch signal.

I think a button on top of the upright section would work (fighter pilot style  :signLOL:)

You get her into the 12's Ben and I'll buy you a pint  :happy2:
