LINK TO THE LEADER BOARD CAN BE FOUND HERE

    http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=9380.0

    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

    Hey all,

    So I don't know how many of you guys are familiar with the 2.0T FSI top 20 leader board on the Vortex forum in the US??

    http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4605509

    As the 2.0 TFSI/TSI engine is becoming more and more developed these times are really starting to come down! And as a result the competition is hotting up..

    As the last few 1/4 mile meets have been quite a success and everyone seems to enjoy it I thought it would be a bit of fun to have something similar for this forum too? Obviously our times would also qualify for the main Top 20 over on Vortex, so a bit of UK vs. US which is never a bad thing  :grin:

    We could have our own UK top 20 leader board (all times can be added to this now from the last year or so) and along side that the fastest car in the following categories..

    * K03 Manual
    * K03 DSG
    * K04 Manual
    * K04 DSG
    * Aftermarket Manual
    * Aftermarket DSG
    * Overall Fastest

    This way everyone has a fair chance of having some equal competition to run against.. The overall top 20 is great, but if your running a tuned K03 then you don't really stand much chance against the big turbo cars etc etc..

    The rules..

    • You must run a time at a 1/4 mile event in the UK and post up with your best run with an accompanying time slip.. If your in the top 20 then your added to the board, and if your top in your class then happy days!  :smiley:

    • The leader board is open to all cars (FWD & 4WD) produced as standard with the 2.0 TFSI/TSI..

    • Cars should all run fuel purchased from the pump AND road legal tyres.. (this is to stop some guys turning up with race fuel and slicks and having a seconds advantage over everyone else)

    Posting new times..

    When posting a new time you should list the following:

    • The time and speed that your car ran - with an accompanying time slip

    • Gearbox type that your car has fitted - DSG or MAN (S-Tronic also falls under the DSG name to keep it simple)

    • The turbo fitted to your car - Eg. OEM K04 or GT2871R etc..

    • The ECU tune that your car is running - Eg. Revo S1 or GIAC or APR S2 etc..

    • What tyres - R888's would be classed as TRACK / Pilot Sports would be ROAD (All tyres must be road legal)

    • Your car Model

    • Your name

    Which should end up looking something like this

    12.601 @ 115.85 - DSG - OEM K04 - REVO S2+ - TRACK TYRE - MK5 ED30 - JonnyC

    So thats about it really, just for fun, but with a competitive edge to keep it interesting!!  :wink:

    Have fun!!!

Hi there I would like to post my times. Here's my time made at Crail Scotland. if you need any proof I will send to a slip of my times made. Could you help please? Thanks anthony37.

     13.047 @ 113.9   - MAN - OEM K04  -REVO S2 +  R888  TYRE - LEON CUPRA - anthony37-K1

    Either post a link on crails site to your time or take a picture of your slip and post it on here for me to enter it, these were the rules before i started updating, so its only fair to keep em going

    http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/showcomp.php?RID=45&RUN=21&EVDate=2012-05-27

    Nice!  Terminals usually do go up as 60's increase.  On the 113mph pass you had a 60' of 2.1 but on the 116mph you had a 60' foot of 2.4 almost 2.5?  Did you go with different tyres or some such?  I've never been to crail, is the track prep rather hit and miss?  Get your 60' back down to ~2.1 and you'll see the terminal come down as well but so does the ET!

    Both runs had 2.1 60 foot times Keith :-)

    Car had more bolt ons second time which may explain higher terminal speed.

    Should cars with water meths be highlighted as having it on this list?

    Ah yes!  That is right.  My apologies, I looked at the Celica that ran next to you somehow.  :ashamed:

    An increase of 3mph is very nice!!  Those bolt-ons helped quite a bit.

    I think fuel in general should be added to the list which should include water meth.  A new column would be perfect.  Mine was on vpower.

    I think it should be like this:

    98 octane + water meth             98 octane            ms109 + water meth           ms116      etc.

    Fuel quality makes a huge difference and water meth is a fuel  for sure even though its injected from a single nozzle usually before the throttle plate, it still ends up in the combustion chamber and burns.
