ED30 Exhaust light
« on: October 18, 2009, 08:06:22 pm »
Owned my Edition 30 for 1 week, under hard acceleration the car hessitates then flies, today the car hessitated then the exhaust light flashed then stayed illuminated (i pressume the ECU sensed a missfire)

its booked into VW in the morning so i am hoping its all covered under warranty (3 year Warranty expires January)

Any of you chaps experienced simular problems ?

P.s. absolutely love the car but just want my baby to be well again !

i was guessing either coil pack or fuel pump

if the coil pack is faulty would it not missfire under normal driving ?

Not necessarily...

Post an update when you get the car back.

All sorted

fault code showed missfire on cylinder No.2, so swopped coil pack (2 & 4) to see if cylinder 4 now missfired

went back to VW a week later and fault code showed missfire on cylinder 1, 2 & 4 !

service book stated spark plugs were not renewed at last service so renewed plugs (just short of 50 notes)

All seems fine now

I think it has been mapped Dom

cant be certain till its been on rollers but it is very quick, my last few cars have been around 230BHP (Mondeo ST220 & BMW 330D remmapped to 235Bhp by chipped uk) and the ED30 is much quicker  :happy2:
