Etka request for MK6 MF steering wheel parts

Can someone help me with a part.

Bought a mk6 gti steering wheel for my van and the buttons on the left don't work or light up. Its been coded properly and the deg paddle on that side works just fine.

The seller has agreed to part refund the cost for any parts to repair it.

I gather the grey ribbon cable can be disconnected from the back of the buttons so is this a separate part that can be bought. Also is the button module separate or do you need to buy the whole chrome effect bit with both left and right buttons?

This part is year dependant so keep this in mind!

Item 17 is the part you need for the switch cluster only sold as both side £149.24 full retail inc vat.

so surely the grey ribbon cable is available somewhere?

The part I believe you need is 25A. You might want to double check the part number first and like said sold as both sides

That is correct but you need to know the year of your set -  those above are for before May 2010
The I posted is more common and for item after May 2010

annoyingly both the wrong buttons. they are the volume buttons. The fault is with the other side and the ribbon is different. thank you though. I did see that £5 one :)

Took the new wheel apart more today and took the buttons off.. the red plug on the ribbon cable was only half pushed in on that side. Popped it back in and hey presto the buttons work.
