Edition30 dab radio?
« on: January 29, 2014, 10:22:54 pm »
I'm looking for the cheapest way for me to have a dab radio in my ed30.
What are the options?
Been looking on eBay .... Would the RCD310 be compatible with a 57reg ed30??

Yeap, it'll be fine. You'd also need a DAB aerial of some description, loads about.

Reception can still be sh*te though with DAB, depends where you are.

No idea about the RCD310, I have a RCD510 DAB. I don't use the DAB, normal FM/AM signal is fine and dandy (if ever I listen to the radio.

RCD310DAB is pretty good and, if all you want is DAB, a good but compared to £250 for an RCD510DAB. The autoleads internal JVC copy aerials for £20 are pretty good too.

I can't stand all the talking on radio stations now. You can't beat absolute 80's and 90's, no talking just good music!
What else will I need to get fully up n running?

It should be plug and play as long as you get the security code. You'll probably need a FAKRA antenna adaptor, £10 on eBay, just search.

Have. Look atall the DAB aerials from here, internal windscreen mounted ones FTW (and price)...

I'm also looking at upgrading my rcd300 to rcd310 in a 57 plate edition 30, not for DAB but hopefully for improved sound!
Will I need to upgrade the canbus?
