if your not going big turbo you wont see any benefit having either different.
Just at first autotech had a few failures which put people of.
They always make the same power and flow more than enough for a k04 setup
but since the part has been revised and they seem good now  :happy2:

Below 300bhp then the Autotech is fine. Over that and APR or Loba are the better options.

Eventually I'd like to get a bigger turbo and was going for the loba hpfp but just wondering if theres any difference in them or if its just the £200+ price difference!

There is difference yes, but you may be better buying a used Loba pump which will narrow the price difference. They crop up from time to time.

the price difference is because LOBA pumps come complete i.e LOBA internals in a new HPFP and they throw in a new cam follower.

Auto Tech internal are just that. Just internals.

I think without both companies providing tech data it is impossible to say autotech<LOBA for HP. Many run the autotech well over 300hp. I had it @ 330 HP initially, and then up to 370HP, and my specified rail pressure in my tune set at 142.5bar. My weak version A intake cam (cheap US version that was recalled for a version B cam) ruined it, but it was a fine piece and over here there are many using it without hitch. And the cost diff is definitely due to autotech being internals where LOBA and APR are being assembled and tested in shop before sending. I am unaware of availability for you all, but IE also has a very nice offering of the HPFP with options of "Kit only, rebuilding yours for you, or a new pump": http://www.performancebyie.com/ie-high-pressure-fuel-pump-hpfp-upgrade-kit-for-2-0t-fsi-engines

From the thousands of threads I've read on the differences between each of the HPFPs, the one thing that stands out for the APR & LOBA pumps is quality.

The HPFP works at by compressing fuel at high pressure (in the name), both the APR and LOBA pumps have a better sealing system which helps to prevent fuel and oil mixing.

There have been more cases of Autotech HPFPs failing and allowing fuel into the oil, then there have of APR & LOBA (although LOBA hasn't been on the market that long in fairness)

If fuel mixes with the oil it will (and has proven to) cause serious engine damage  :scared:

If (read as when) I come to buy a HPFP it will be either APR or LOBA for that reason  :happy2:

Everything can fail, just a question of which is more likely to do so.

^THIS. Nothing is completely reliable, but using a better piston design and uprated seals provide that little more security and therefore peace of mind.

IIRC Alex @ AKS has seen better performance from APR over the Autotech in the form of more consistent rail pressure

I havent heard anything about apr or loba failing just yet but i guess id rather spend the extra money on a better hpfp that hasnt got as much of a chance failing.
But now apr or loba is the question
