Problems with Fiscon Basic Plus - Why so quiet?
« on: July 18, 2012, 08:02:47 pm »
I have recently fitted a Fiscon Basic Plus unit (basic plug and play - no coding required).

I need to find out how on earth do you turn it up so you can hear people through the speakers? It's so quiet its useless when driving.

I've tried turning everything up to the max and its still barely audible. I don't seem to have access to any menu as I don't have a MFSW. I have used the *582#1015 code as per the instructions but still no louder. I have then tried another phone and again no louder. Other people that I am phoning can hear me fine......

It is plugged into the back of an RNS510. All features work fine but it's soooooo quiet!

Any advice on how to solve this is appreciated.

Cheers

Is vol turned up on phone?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

have you got highline and/or the wiper stalk? if so you should be able to access the volume menu using the wiper stalk

1) make a bluetooth connection with your fiscon
2) make a call to someone
3) whilst its ringing - turn the volume knob on your RNS - it should increase the 'telephone' volume - thats one of the volumes

the other 'volume' option is of course the one inside the fiscon which would be changed using either the wiper stalk and/or MFSW buttons - this menu would only appear after you've made a bluetooth connection to your phone -

1) make a bluetooth connection with your fiscon
2) go to 'setup' in the 'fiscon bluetooth' screen on your MFA/FIS
3) find the bluetooth volume option and have a good play around!

good luck  :happy2:
