arm rest 6 disc CD changer issue
« on: January 11, 2015, 11:00:41 pm »
CD changer under the arm rest doesn't work as there seems to be no lights on it and when pressing the buttons no noises  :surprised:
Does it have a fuse?.

Thanks

The forum is actually very helpful, there's a good chance your question was asked at a busy time so it just got pushed back to the end of the queue!

In 2 years of very active use of this forum I've never seen that issue arise.

I have a 6 disc changer also and have not had this problem.

Check your handbook for the fuse layout and start with that, next up would be to remove the changer and examine it. Is this just a recent occurrence or was it like it since you got it? Maybe water was spilled inside it? Good luck! Maybe someone else can shed some light

Hi luke, thanks for your reply.
Your probably right with the responses but guessing the audi tt forum is a little different from the gti one.

I'll try the fuse and see what other things I can do eh take the unit out and check for power etc

Thanks again

Let us know how you get on if you solve the problem for people searching this thread down the line and also don't be afraid to bump the post now and then to get it to the top of the list again.

the cd changer used to suffer with the cd getting stuck inside. but if you have no power a fuse would be a good start. has it work anytime you have owned the car?

this will sound like a stupid question. but might be worth taking it out to see if it has the wiring. lots of people retro fit the armrests and some come with cd changer. let me know if you need any tips on removal

I'll check the pics for the screws as I have torx bits spanners and screw drivers to hand. It's like replacing the wishbone bushes on the tt were like over two hours the first time and half an hour the second time 3 years later lol
Basically once you know you know
