Mk7 R brakes on Scirocco
« on: January 14, 2015, 02:32:50 am »
Hi all, does anyone know if the Mk7 R brake setup (calipers and specifically disc offsets) is a direct bolt on to the Scirocco? Thanks.

Speak to Alex

@vRSAlex

He recently put a TTRS/DB9 set up on a Mk7 R .
Scirocco is same as a Golf Mk5/Mk6 brake wise so if it fits a Golf 5/6 then it would fit the Rocco.

With the abundance and cheapness of the R32/S3 stuff it would be silly to overlook that first.

Anyone got information on the mk7 R piston size?

Basically, a full setup of R brakes would cost less than me buying TTRS/RS3 calipers, getting them refurbished with R logos, then buying TTRS discs, HEL lines, and refurbishing my rear calipers in black also.

The S3/R32 stuff will likely need refurbishing too.

If I could get a complete R setup for £700-800 would cost me less all around.

Did Alex retain the R kit as stock or did the owner keep them to put back on? :)

No reason they wont fit and work fine.

I don't have any info on the R master cylinder size, but pedal travel on the 6 pots I fitted was minimal.

The discs are 340x30mm.  Not the same as the TTS discs though.

They are. But seem to be a few full sets around. Just saves me hassle.

Yeah. Saw those. Too expensive for what I'd want to do with them.

That's the problem. Factor in refurbishing, all parts needed and getting rears to match. I could have just gone with an R setup for an OEM look.  :happy2:
