Anyone had work done by deutsche doktors near stoke
« on: January 02, 2015, 10:52:20 am »
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these guys, they seem to mostly do mk1s and mk2s but will touch anything vag.

Got my car booked in with them for next friday to have intake and pipewerx downpipe and remap done, probably have full service and general health check while they got the car.

From speaking on the phone a couple of times with them they very helpful bunch of guys by sounds of it.

Will report back with results and some pictures when i get it back.

ABP Motorsport in Shavington fitted my Pipewerx Downpipe. They are only 15mins from Stoke  :happy2:

What brand is the remap? Guessing it's just a generic flash?

They use custom in house remaps from what he was saying so can tailor the map to how I would like it etc

Forgot to report on here about recent work had done on my gti at Deutsch doctors in Stoke.

The work I had done with full service, and various parts I had fitted like intake, downpipe diverter valve etc is all good and alot cheaper labour rates than I thought and great bunch of guys so I can't fault them on that.

Big regret though is having them map my car.

Not sure how to start but basically from the office I was starting to doubt if I should have them do it from initially think they said it would only be £150 for the remap so I started to think things are normally cheap for a reason. It's not like they don't know what they are doing but it just felt a bit like they don't normally do it but they will give it a go type thing if no what I mean.

Struggling to thing how to describe the map but it's kinda made the car undrinkable.
Up to and around 50mph is much the same as how the car is anyway, which I was hoping I would feel the car pull harder up to 50mph but it doesn't.( It's dsg also btw)  but from 50mph onwards it's horrific, it sounds sweet with the downpipe but it's like the revs just suddenly bounce up to the red line as though I'm revving the nads off it when I'm just trying to gradually increase the revs for an overtake for example. But it's not even like it's kicking in when it does rev up, it's like the revs fly up and sounds like I'm screaming it but it's all noise and no go what so ever and is so gutless up to 80mph.

I felt a right fool when I went to pass someone earlier as here I am coming past and it suddenly starts screaming with revs but I'm going no where taking ages to go past a 1 litre corsa. I'm now at the point where I got no faith in the car to go past anyone and it's just feels all over the place with the power and the revs. can't even describe the power as been spiky as it's just the revs are spikey but with no power to go with it.

Going to get on the phone to r tech at end of the week like I shut of done to start with and see what they say and see how soon they can get me in as can't carry on with the car like this.

Feel like it ruined the car at min but guess this is why should learn that things are cheap for a reason.

Anyway thought share my rant and experience with you all.

Cheers Daz

Sounds like your clutch is slipping mate - which is worrying with a DSG car  :scared:

I'd get the garage to remove the remap ASAP.

It seems to be changing up through the gears okay, it's as though the timing is all out of when it should be changing or kicking down etc?

x2 sounds like clutch but couldnt say without seeing the car

the map shouldnt make the gears all over the place unless they have mapped the box?

Half than less than half through reading your post and I'm thinking clutch straight away.

Definitely get deutsch quacks to remove their map map asap

Good luck with it
